Arghakhanchi district lies in Province No. 5 in western Nepal with Sandhikharka as its district headquarter. This district is bordered by Palpa in the east, Pyuthan in the west, Gulmi in the north and Kapilvastu in the south. Arghakhanchi is a hilly district that is graced with cultural and natural diversity. It is covered with forests as there are hills of the Mahabharat and Siwalik ranges. The distance is around 300 km from capital city Kathmandu to Arghakhanchi. The best time to visit this place is October to December and February to April.

Supa Deurali

Supa Deurali is one of the magnificent hill station and pilgrimage site situated at Narapani VDC of Arghakhanchi. It is in road of Gorusinge to Sandhikharka. It lies 81 km away north from Butwal. This place is worth visit for pilgrimage purpose as well as sightseeing panoramic view. As Arghakhanchi is well known for its magnificent view of Himalayan panoramic view to the north. It includes Mt. Machhapuchhre, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri etc. and also wide plains of Nepal can be viewed.

There is a Supa Deurali temple connected with a myth story of a Lahure (the soldier in Indian army). While he was passing by the temple on his way back home to India. He was worried that he might never be able to see his country again so he stopped at the temple and prayed. He promised the deity that if he is able to go back home safely, he will return and give a golden chain to the temple. Even though he successfully made it home, he never fulfilled his promise.

Siwalik Hill

Siwalik hills also known as Churia hills are a mountain range of the outer Himalayas.

Sano Gaun is the most popular place to visit. Lamchi is another popular village in Arghakhanchi. In context of visiting religious places, Deurali temple is one of the famous temples in this district. Beside this temple there are lots of temples and monuments which includes Chhatraganj temple, Argha Mandir and others too. One of the attractions of this district is Narapani Bajar.

Mahabharat Range

The Mahabharat range also called the lesser Himalaya or the Himachal is a major east-west mountain range with elevation of 3700m to 4500m. Most ethnic groups found along the Mahabharat range and northward into the middle hills includes Nepalese origins of Magar, Newar, Gurung, Rai, Tamang and Limbu.
